When I was informed of the Minority Scholarship, I did not think that I would be able to receive such a scholarship. On the other hand, I did feel that there was a financial need, so I filled out the application. Through God's awesome grace and love He provided financial support through the Minority Scholarship. The Lord has done great and mighty things in my life and has proven to be more than enough. I desire to glorify Him through the way that I live. I thank the Lord for giving me the opportunity to train at BJU.
I Corinthians 10:31 "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God."

I am from St. Lucia, one of the Caribbean islands that is situated above South America. I am the second child from a family of six children and the first one to attend a Christian college. At the age of twelve, while listening to a missionary story at a Bible club, I accepted Christ as my personal Savior. It was then that the Lord took hold of my heart. I realized then that it was not an obligation to be a Christian, but a high calling, a privilege given to those of us who are born again. This motivated me to make myself available in whatever ministry at church that needed help.
I had the opportunity to attend Business College for two years in St. Lucia. Upon completion, the door was opened for me to study in Puerto Rico at Colegio Bautista de Puerto Rico. It was during my four years of studies there that I was able to learn a third language, enabling me to be able to minister to Spanish speaking people that I come in contact with. More importantly though, it was then that I came to really understand the true meaning of my Christian calling. The Lord used these four years to shape and mold me into an instrument for His use.
I believe the Lord is directing me to be a guidance counselor or an administrative supervisor. Though I do not know exactly where my ministerial call is, I do know that my heart is open to wherever the Lord leads me.
Thanks to the Minority Scholarship Fund, my Christian education has been made possible. I am thankful that such funding is available to needy students like me who want to be used of the Lord, but because of financial barriers in the past were not able to. May the Lord keep this fund active so that many more international and local students can benefit.

Through much prayer and godly counsel, the Lord made it clear to me that Bob Jones University is where He would have me prepare for the ministry. Knowing that Bob Jones University was where God wanted me, I realized that He would provide the finances for me to get there. My family has never been able to afford a lot, but God has constantly allowed us to enjoy many good things. God has always provided for us, so I knew that I didn't need to worry about financial support for schooling. God would provide. And God remained faithful to us again when He saw fit to provide some financial help through the Minority Scholarship Fund. I am thankful and forever indebted to those who contributed to the Minority Scholarship Fund, and thus, helped me to prepare to serve Christ.
